Foundations Kid’s Ministry

Foundations Kids Ministry exists to create an environment where kids can “start;” a place where they can learn the basics of the faith, in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Each week, our wonderful children’s workers will strategically lay a firm, spiritual foundation for our kids; giving them a “rock-solid” place to learn about Jesus! We believe it is imperative that we redeem the time, and prepare our kids for a life spent serving Christ! We also envision a kids ministry that prepares our children to seamlessly graduate into our Youth Program, where they will be able to build on what they’ve learned, and go even deeper!

We draw inspiration from Matthew 7:24-27, which teaches about the wise man who built his house upon the rock, and the foolish man who built his house upon the sand. The scriptures say that the wise man’s house stood firm amidst great winds, because he had built on the right kind of foundation — but, the foolish man built his house upon the sand, and when the storms came, his house fell down… and, “great was the fall of it.”

  • Matthew 7:24-27 – “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
Here, Christ shows us the dangers of trying to build a life on top of something that is bound to fall. He encourages us to, instead, station our lives upon “the Rock” of His Word. Our aim is to see each child flourishing in their foundation, so they can build a life there, centered on Christ.

OUR LOGO

If you look closely, the Foundations logo bears a striking resemblance to an evergreen tree; symbolizing growth, and new beginnings, and highlighting our aim to successfully graduate each child into Rocky Hock’s Youth Ministry, and beyond!

It could also be interpreted as a tent, or a homestead; this draws upon Matt. 7:24-27, and reminds us that we are laying a foundation for a life to be built upon. The two lines running horizontally through the symbol represent the roots of a cypress tree — which stretch, and grow downwards, and anchor themselves to the “Rock” — allowing for lasting growth! Within the logo, there are also three arrows pointing upwards; which represent the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; reminding us of our goal to teach our children the fundamentals of the faith.

WHEN WE MEET

Our kids meet on both Sunday and Wednesday nights! On Sunday’s, we begin at 6 PM, and on Wednesday’s we meet at 7 PM. On Wednesday’s, our boys have RA’s (1st-5th Grade) and our girls have GA’s (1st-5th Grade). We also have “Mission Friends” each Wednesday at 7 PM for 3 & 4 year old’s, in room 406.

Additionally, we have Sunday School starting at 9:45 AM each week.  There is a Sunday School class for each age/grade.
Our goal in children and youth ministries at RHBC is to partner with parents to produce spiritually mature adults. We encourage everyone to attend an age appropriate Sunday School class and attend worship together. Nursery is provided for birth to toddler. We also offer Children’s Church during the 11am service for 3&4 year olds that meet in room #411 and Kindergarten thru 3rd grade that meet in room #417/418. The K-3rd grade children are dismissed from the service and both groups can be picked up at each class after the service.
